Aleddra, a Seattle-based lighting technology innovator, announces today that the sales of its Gen2 Emergency LED T8 sales has grown over 400% in less than a year due primarily to its acceptance in the education sector. This tube is the only safety light product recognized by Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) in 2019. The IES Progress Committee states in the recognition letter that Gen2 Emergency T8 Tube is recognized “as unique and significant advancement to the art and science of lighting.”

Aleddra’s Gen2 Emergency T8 lamp features:

  • It works as a regular LED T8 tube during normal operation and can be turned on/off by a wall switch
  • The built-in Lithium battery turns the Gen2 EM tube into an emergency light during power outage with over 90 minutes of battery life.
  • 50% energy savings over a standard fluorescent T8 tube
  • Cost approx. 50% less than a standard fluorescent emergency ballast
  • When the Gen2 reaches the “end of life,” all you need to do is replace the tube. About a 90% labor savings over replacing an emergency ballast.
  • The Gen2 can be wired for ALWAYS-ON operation for hallway and stairwell.
  • At 0.6 lbs. the Gen2 tube meets the UL tube weight limit: 1.1 lbs., while many of the competitive products DO NOT.

“With its unparallel technical advantages plus its very cost-effective price, it has become the best-selling emergency lighting product to organizations such as school districts where emergency power generation is not an option,” states Matthew Maa, Aleddra VP Sales & Marketing. “In early 2019 we began to see a large-scale interest from education facilities across the United States. Presently we are seeing an even higher rate of interest from government, commercial and industrial facilities for the Aleddra Gen2 Emergency tube”.
